Engine Displacement Tips

Displacement = π × (bore ÷ 2)² × stroke × number of cylinders
Engine size is commonly measured in cubic centimeters (cc), cubic inches (ci), or liters (L).
1 liter = 1,000 cubic centimeters = 61.024 cubic inches
Larger displacement generally produces more power but may consume more fuel.
Engines with the same displacement but more cylinders typically rev higher and run smoother.
Modern engines achieve more power from smaller displacements through turbocharging and other efficiency improvements.
